News from the Club: June 2026
From the Board
Dear Kingspoint Club Members,
Schools out for summer… well almost, but Summer is here ( although sometimes rainy and sometime a wee bit chilly…). Warmer weather and pool temperatures are coming. It was great to see so many of you braved the torrential monsoon that was Memorial Day to meet and socialize with your neighbors and friends. We have another party coming up soon - hope to see you there as well, with drier weather this time! Swim team practice has started - see the additional information below. There has also been some confusion regarding some of the rules of the pool. We have made their location on the website more evident for your viewing pleasure ( 🙂). Thank you for your help in keeping the pool safe for our residents and children.
We are looking forward to another great summer filled with friendship and camaraderie. Come on down, get some sun, have some fun and enjoy… Speaking from experience, these summer days at the pool make lifetime memories and friendships - hope to see you poolside!! As summer and the swim season swings into action, check out what we have to look forward to this month. To see all of the year’s activities at the Club, check out the Events Calendar on the Kingspoint Club Website.
We have been asked to share the information about the possible school redistricting, changing our elementary school from Mathew Whaley to Laurel Lane. Please visit this website for additional information and to get involved: https://homeonthefarmstead.com/wjcc-redistricting/

We will have popsicles/ice cream treats, pizza, lemonade, a diving contest, and cool summer vibes for kids and adults alike! Eat, drink, and take a splash in the pool! To keep things simple we are asking for a small donation of $5-15 per family to help cover food costs. Please let us know you’re coming, contribute to the party, donate diving prizes, and sign up to help through the link HERE. We hope to see everyone there for a great time! Bring your swimsuits, towels, and summer spirit!
July 4, Fourth of July Picnic, 1-4 PM: Be on the lookout for more details about our annual Independence Day Picnic. With this being the 250th anniversary of our country, you won’t want to miss it!
Social Events: The Club is inviting our members to take the lead and bring their Social Event ideas to life! We thank everyone for making the Club a wonderful place to gather, connect, and celebrate! Please reach out to MaryKate Galke for more information or if you have an event you would like to host at KPSocialComm@gmail.com.
Pool & Swim Team News
Pool Rules: Please visit this page for pool rules: https://www.kingspointclub.org/rules. In addition, these signs are posted at the pool to clarify the floats allowed (at lifeguard’s discretion) and adult swim times (15 minutes at the end of each hour), per pool contract requirements.
Pool Hours can be found on the club website and a printable calendar can be found HERE. (note: this version has been revised to fix a typo. On Friday, the pool is monitored by pool attendants, not life guards. We apologize for the error)
Water Aerobics Class Instructor Needed: We are currently looking for a new water aerobics instructor. Classes historically have run twice a week and are paid at $40/class. If you are interested in this position, please email kppresidents@gmail.com.
Swim Team Practice & Open Lane Swim: Please note that the Kingspoint Swim Team will be using the pool during certain weekday evening hours of the swim team season. Swim practice starts at the end of May and runs until the end of July. Their daily practice schedule can help you plan your trip to the pool. Note: Swim team is changing practice times for June 1-5, and June 8-10 to better accommodate the large number of young swimmers we had sign up this year. The 10 and under practice will run from 6:00 - 6:45, and the 11 and over from 7:00 - 8:00. Beginning June 11th, practice will be on weekdays from 8:00 - 9:00 am, and 7:00 - 8:00 pm.
The lane near the deep end and diving board will remain open for Club members during swim practice. A sign has been placed in that area to identify the designated member lane. If the lane is being used during practice, please remind the coaching staff or pool attendants that this lane should remain available for Club members.
Summer Pass Holders: We would love to welcome Friends of Kingspoint (non-residents) back to the Kingspoint Club as a 2026 Summer Pass Holder! It is that time of the year again when Friends of Kingspoint may begin thinking about joining the Kingspoint Club for the 2026 Summer Season. The Kingspoint Club would love to welcome them and their families back to the Kingspoint Pool this summer.
We have two ways for Friends of Kingspoint to join the Kingspoint Pool as Summer Pass Holders this year.
They can print and fill out the Summer Pass Holder form and mail it in with their payment to the Club.
They can join online by visiting the Membership Page of the Kingspoint Club website and click on "Join as a Summer Pass Holder" at the bottom of the page. Click on"Summer Pass Holders" to join online today.
Spread the word! We look forward to seeing our Summer Pass Holders at the Club this summer!
Pool guests: Guests must be accompanied by a member. There is a $5 fee per person for local guests (WJCC and Upper York County residents). There is no charge for out-of-town guests or grandchildren. Kingspoint residents must be club members to be at the pool. You can pay for a daily guest pass online https://www.kingspointclub.org/store/p/pool-guest-daily-pass or with cash at the pool. If you live in Kingspoint and you have not paid for pool membership, then you cannot be a guest of a member.
Kingspoint Dolphins Swim Team updates:
It is not too late to join the KP Dolphin Swim Team! Even if you can only swim for a portion of the season we want you!
To register your swimmer(s) head to: https://kingspoint.swimtopia.com/. All details are on our Swimtopia page.
Evening practices have just started and continue Mon-Fri from June 1 – June 10 (as indicated above)
Beginning Thursday, June 11, there will be practices in both the morning (8-9 a.m.) and evening (7-8 p.m.) from Monday-Friday (except for meet days). Any age can attend any practice!
We will have time trials on Monday, June 8 and need parents/guardians of swimmers to help with several volunteer opportunities (e.g. timing, scoring, stroke and turn, etc.). Be on the lookout for sign-up info!
We are also still looking for stroke and turn judges! There is a training on Monday, June 1st at 7pm at the Powhatan Secondary Clubhouse (201 Charter House Lane). If you can’t make it on June 1st, please let us know and we will forward any additional training opportunities to you!
See you at the Pool!

Volunteer Opportunities
Spring Clean-Up Recap: This has to be the best clubhouse cleaning, tree trimming, and mulch spreading group ever assembled. Besides the hard work there was lots of laughter, visiting, and club members having just good old fashioned neighborly fun!
We want to thank all of the group for the outstanding work you did!
Pam Young, Julie Mishler, Mackenzie Mishler, Micah Mishler, Mason Mishler, Joe Hertzler, CJ Hertzler, David Miller, Wendy Miller, Xander Kroeniein, Tyler Kroeniein, David Stanhope, Lowrey Reynolds, Gabriel LeGouellec, Mary LeGouellec, Michael Draeger, Jaime Settle, Carl Martin, Paul Kimmelmain, Norman Elton, Ben Brown II, Ben Brown III, Nancy McDonald, Laine Stump, Mike Gordon, and a crazy green Llama truck!
Memorial Day 5K: Big thanks to all who helped with the 6th annual KP5K - Karl Kroenlein and Ruth Ann Redbird, Greg Henderson, Rebecca Elton, and Ben Galke. And thanks to the many runners and walkers (and bikers!) who came out to participate in the race.
Memorial Day Picnic: We enjoyed another fantastic Memorial Day celebration! Between the food, the fun, and even the rain, it was a day to remember, and that's entirely thanks to the incredible people who showed up to make it happen. We want to make sure everyone knows who these behind-the-scenes heroes are. A huge thank-you goes out to our set-up crew to Joe and Jack Tucker, Rowan, Nathan, Denise Koch, and Pam Young for getting everything ready and making the space look great. John Williams and Michael Gordon both fired up the grills despite the weather, and Michael, you deserve a special shoutout for sticking it out through a full-on downpour. That kind of dedication doesn't go unnoticed. We are so grateful! Norman Elton did some pre-event shopping to help us get ready, then mid-party ran out to get us more hamburger and hotdog buns. He also took care of trash throughout the event. Norman was a real MVP! A special thank you also goes out to Michael Gordan (again!) and Lowery Reynolds for their generous donation of the delicious burgers. Many of you know Danny Schmidt does Diving for Dollars at many summer events, but what some may not know is that he uses his own money every single time. The kids absolutely love it, and we think it's worth saying out loud: Danny, your generosity and enthusiasm make our events extra special. Thank you.
Cleanup was a breeze thanks to Michael Gordon, John Williams, Susie Turner, Sarah Hugh, and Ben Brown — with a special nod to Ben for tackling the floor mopping. Your help meant everyone got home faster and happier! Many many thanks to Kathy Williams for planning the whole picnic and making it happen!! Last but absolutely not least: MaryKate Galke is the backbone of everything we do socially at Kingspoint Club. Every event, every detail, every plan — she is the reason it all comes together. We could not do any of this without her.
To every single one of you — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This club is what it is because of people like you.
More Thank Yous: A big thank-you to Mike Draeger for building the wonderful new firewood stand at the Clubhouse. The next time you are there, be sure to take a look! We also want to thank Joe Hertzler and Lowrey Reynolds for their recent work power washing the sidewalks. We have already heard so many great compliments about how clean and refreshed they look. We are grateful for the time, effort, and care these neighbors continue to pour into our Club community!
Additional Club Improvement Projects Coming in June: We have several additional improvement projects planned for June, including power washing the pool decks, staining the picnic tables and wood deck, and building a new walkway with a bridge to the BBQ area.
Please watch your email for upcoming work dates and opportunities to help. Thank you for continuing to support the care and improvement of our Club!

Membership Updates & Community Growth
Member Referral Rewards: Love Kingspoint Club? Tell a friend! One of the best ways to grow our Club is the way Kingspoint has always done things best: neighbor to neighbor. When you share what you love about the pool, the events, the clubhouse, the dock, the playground, or the community itself, it helps others see what makes this place so special.
This summer, when you refer a new member to the Club, you’ll receive a gift card to a local restaurant, like Aroma’s, as a small thank-you from us.
So invite a friend, share your Kingspoint story, and help us welcome more families into the fun. Our Club grows best when it grows through the people who already love it here.
