News from the Club: March 2025
“Kingspoint is more than a collection of homes. It is a community and has been since it was built. We are a fabulous motley crew of Veterinarians, Therapists, Professors, Soldiers, Sailors, and Spies. We go to public and private schools. We are retirees and those just having our first kids. This is where civil society takes place – common spaces. We desperately need to preserve these spaces” Mary Le Gouellec, Kingspoint Resident

Lifeguards: Interested in becoming a lifeguard this summer? We want YOU! Please read the following information about lifeguarding at the Kingspoint Pool in 2025.
Continental has posted training classes in the new Aquaplex in Hampton this year (as well as training courses in Virginia Beach). Information can be found at Top Lifeguard Training in Southern Virginia | Continental Pools.
All those interested in lifeguarding please apply using the following form which is specific to the Kingspoint Club Continental Season Lifeguard Form.
Continental is giving discounted lifeguard training for their own employees, and it is our understanding that if the training is completed soon it will potentially be free.
Last year (2024), the pay started at $14 per hour and increased depending on experience, availability, etc.
Please apply ASAP if you are interested in being a lifeguard this summer.
If you have any questions, please contact the Kingspoint Presidents (KPPresidents@gmail.com) or our Facilities Chair (KingspointFacilities@gmail.com).
Swim Team: It’s time to get excited about the Swim Team! We are thrilled to welcome Coach Martin back for another year. Watch your emails for more information coming out soon!
Kingspoint Club Swim Team Volunteer Needs: Volunteering is honestly as important to the health of the Club as paying your dues! We are so appreciative of those members who step up to fill our many important roles.
Current Swim Team Leadership Needs in 2025:
The Swim Team is seeking volunteer support for the 2025 Kingspoint Dolphins Swim Season. We would like to secure at least one more Swim Team President and a Volunteer Coordinator.
We would like to assure our volunteers that they will receive support from our amazing 2025 leadership team.
The swim team positively impacts the Club, the neighborhood, and all KP families socially, physically and financially.
To learn more, please reach out to the Kingspoint Board at kppresidents@gmail.com.
News from the Club Update: A huge thank you to Jen Stanhope for jumping in to be our Editor and Publisher in 2025. Once she has transitioned into the role, she will begin publishing the News from the Club for its many eager readers!
New Process for 2025 Social Events: We are inviting each of our members to take the lead and bring your Social Event ideas to life! We thank everyone for making the Club a wonderful place to gather, connect, and celebrate in 2025!
Here’s What’s Changing:
Instead of a dedicated social committee, we’re giving every club member the opportunity to step into the role of event planner.
Whether you’ve always dreamed of designing the perfect party or you prefer a simple and straightforward approach, this is your chance to shine!
What Does It Mean to Be an Event Planner?
You’ll create the theme and vision for the event.
You’ll write 2-3 emails to club members to share the details of your event.
You’ll be on-site as the party planner on the day of the event
You’ll enjoy the gratitude and appreciation of fellow club members for making the event possible!
Things to Know:
Decorations, games, and extra touches are entirely optional.
Keeping your event simple is perfectly fine!
Helpers will be available.
A SignUpGenius form will make coordinating easy.
You’ll receive a detailed planning guide about a month before your event.
The planning guide will help you every step of the way.
Ready to make an event your own? Follow these rules to keep your event simple!
Events should be free and open to all Club members.
Events can be BYOB or alcohol free at the planner's discretion.
There should be no charge to attend these events.
Members should expect to bring food to share & their own adult beverages.
We’re excited to see the creativity of our members. Some new events include an Easter Egg Hunt, Adult Tiki Party, and Oktoberfest.

Committee members will also reach out to current non-Club neighbors to discuss and encourage membership.

If a neighbor joins because of your assistance, you will receive a $10 gift card to Aromas as a THANK YOU from the Board!
Looking Ahead: Jumping into 2025 with 110% energy, the Club needs YOU. We need ALL members to support our committees and to help “champion” our many important projects.
