News from the Club: November 2025
Letter from the KP Presidents
Dear Kingspoint Club Members,
It’s November and truly starting to feel like Fall. The trees are changing and giving us beautiful yellows, oranges, and reds this year. Falling leaves mean it’s time for our annual Club Fall Clean Up (11/9/25) of the grounds and our Harvest Happy Hour (11/15/25) that is open to all Kingspoint residents. If you have a neighbor who is thinking about joining the Club or you have a neighbor who is a former Club member, invite them all to come down to the Clubhouse to mingle with new and old friends and neighbors. Let’s clean up and then utilize our amazing amenities to gather everyone together. It’s time to join in the fun!
Calling ALL Kingspoint Residents: Please join your neighbors at the Kingspoint Clubhouse on November 15 from 5-7PM for a “Harvest Happy Hour” Social Event! Members, please invite neighbors who are former members, as well as those who may be considering joining our Club.
We will provide Sangria, Wine, and Beer. Please bring your favorite Small Bites for sharing. All donations support our Kingspoint Club. Adults 21+ only.
OCTOBER Volunteers and Donors: We are forever thankful for our members for your unwavering support. You make the Club look beautiful and run smoothly. The Club couldn’t run properly without everyone’s efforts!! A heartfelt thank you to all for signing up and showing up! THANK YOU ALL!
Polly Bartlett, Tim Caviness, Peggy Manning, Mike Matthews, and Jack Rouzie - With Tim Caviness recently moving out of Kingspoint, officially retiring from the Architectural Review Committee, we would like to officially take the time to thank each of you for decades of service to the Kingspoint Club and Architectural Review Committee. Your years of service helped to create a beautiful architectural diversity in our Kingspoint community that exists today for all to enjoy. Thank you!
This brick is located on the Clubhouse porch that is closest to College Creek
Matt Blinn and Gina Flango (Oktoberfest Hosts Extraordinaire!) - Ben Brown, Norm Elton, MaryKate Galke, MIchael Gordon, Chuck Haines, Loretta Hannum, Kim Lavach, Carl Martin, John Williams, and Pam Young - Oktoberfest was a great success! Thank you to the collective efforts of so many wonderful donors and volunteers. We had generous donations of authentic German beer and outfits (Lederhosen & Dirndls), and generous gifts of time and service. The day was beautiful and enjoyed by all who attended! Thank you!
Octoberfest fun: Katie Austin, MaryKate Galke, and Gina Flango
Mary LeGouellec (Halloween Party Host Extraordinaire!) - Brier Anderson, Amy Berquist & kids, Sarah Huber, Claudia Kessel, Karl Kroenlein, Maggie Larson, Melissa Reeves, Erin Shields, Jen Stanhope, and Kathy Williams -The Halloween Party was a great success also! It was the perfect way to get the neighborhood families together and ready to go trick-or-treating this year! A fun time was had by all! Thank you!
Michael Gordon and Kim Lavach - Thank you for continuing to cut and clear away the bamboo from the Boat Rack area.
Kingspoint Club Board Members: WE NEED YOU! We are restructuring the Board and soliciting nominations for the Kingspoint Club Board for 2026. The individuals listed below have been nominated (or asked) for the next iteration of the KP Board, but actually voting on these positions will occur at the Annual Meeting in January. If you would be interested in learning more about one of these positions, please contact kppresidents@gmail.com for more information or to speak to the current member filling the position.
There are at least five elected positions – Each term is currently two-years. (*Vacant)
The President of Communications: Ben Brown (Runs meetings-monthly and annual; creates meeting agendas; addresses daily emails; handles daily tasks as they arise)
VP of Communications or Communications Coordinator: Julie Mischler (oversees the website, the newsletter and the kiosk posters; emails event announcements; updates the distribution lists.)
The Vice President of Membership: Mary LeGouellouc (Attends meetings; addresses membership emails; maintains Club pamphlet; updates and distributes non-resident form; assists Treasurer with collection of dues; keeps list of members in good standing; maintains a team of helpers; reaches out to resident non-members and past members about joining the Club.)
The Secretary: Pam Young (Attends meetings; takes minutes at meetings; uploads minutes to Club Documents folder; Updates Bylaws every 5 years.)
*The Treasurer (Attends meetings; maintains Quickbooks; prepares/emails all invoices to members; manages expenses from services; creates monthly P&L document; coordinates tax filing with accountant; checks P.O. box.)
The Facilities Coordinator: Michael Gordon (Attends meetings; keeps a running list of Club amenities projects and repairs; coordinates the two annual Clean-Up days; maintains and corresponds with the Facilities Team to facilitate repairs.
Note: the Facilities Coordinator will also requests and shares updates from the Pool Attendant Coordinator (PAC), the Pool Company Coordinator (PCC), the Clubhouse Rentals Coordinator, the Boat Rack Coordinator, the Dock Team, and the Facilities Team (and thankfully ALL OF THESE POSITIONS ARE FILLED)
Swim Team Co-Presidents: Our Kingspoint Dolphin summer swim team has a long history (over 65 years!) of coaching our neighborhood swimmers. We teach lifelong skills: swimming, teamwork, work ethic, dedication. And equally important, it's safe and fun! The progress of swimmers from beginning to end of summer each year is completely amazing to witness.
Because the team runs on volunteer support, we are soliciting 2 x co-Presidents for this upcoming swim year. All our leadership will be transitioning out of the President positions in 2026 and we can only host a summer swim league if we can fill these positions. Ideally, we need (2) Kingspoint swim families to step up to lead the charge. The season prep generally begins in late March and runs through late July. We have all the continuity files in place for an easy transition.
Please contact Maggie Larson at margaret.larson2006@gmail.com and/or kpswimteam@gmail.com to discuss this opportunity.
Due Diligence Report: The Board discovered that Mike Matthews created a Due Diligence report for the Kingspoint Club (previously completed every 5 years). The Due Diligence report contained the professional reports which evaluate the current status of all of the Club’s amenities. The Board has decided to reinstate Mike’s Due Diligence report in 2025 to help us better understand the Club’s current status. Moving forward, it is our hope that this Board as well as future Boards will use the information in this report to address short-term and long-term maintenance needs of the Club.**
Facilities: **Please let us know if there are things that you have seen which need to be repaired/cleaned/fixed at the Club.
Mark your calendars for our Fall Cleanup Event on Sunday, November 9 (2-5 PM). We need everyone's help to make the clubhouse, pool, and landscaping be something for which our community is proud.
There are a few maintenance items for which we could use volunteer support NOW 1.) power washing some areas on and around the clubhouse. 2.) help in clearing and removing bamboo and other debris from the boat rack area. 3.) If anyone has some extra time and wants to work off a few calories, we are happy to have members move some mulch anytime to bare areas in the gardens around the clubhouse or elsewhere in the property anytime. (There is a huge new pile of mulch next to Karl's house!)
Facilities Team Support: The Facilities Team has LOTS TO DO and NEEDS your help! Can you cut down a dead tree? Can you fix a swim block? Can you replace decking boards? Can you move mulch? Can you fix broken lighting or solve a plumbing mystery? WE NEED YOU! Please contact our Facilities chair (kingspointfacilities@gmail.com) if you would like to join our Facilities Team or to find out if there are any projects that we could use your help completing.
Kingspoint Community Merchandise: T-shirts are $20 each for this year's RED options. Previous years' T-shirts are $5 each; there are limited sizes. Ball caps (RED or GRAY) are $20 each. Koozies are $5 each. All merchandise will be available for sale at Home Swim Meets OR members can email MaryKate Galke (mkgalke@gmail.com) with specific size/color requests.

(This past spring, the Kingspoint Club received an approved wetlands permit for the Kingspoint Community Dock Replacement project. We then submitted a site plan to the JCC Zoning Office and it was approved. We are currently working with Club member, Mike Matthews, of The Structures Group to obtain the final permits for the dock. We will provide updates to the membership when the permits have been obtained.)
