Dear Kingspoint Club Members,
Summer is winding down. Swim season is over and I wanted to thank our coaches and parents as well as our swimmers for a great, fun season! It is hard to believe it is already August and we have less than a month of pool time left. Labor Day is just around the corner. I hope everyone is getting time to relax and recharge - September and school buses are getting closer everyday. As the cooler weather comes in, we are thinking about possible volunteer activities. Please keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities to help out. .
We have new members joining and I hope you welcome them to the neighborhood and the Club! See the calendar links in the News from the Club for upcoming activities - come down and meet your neighbors, take a break and enjoy your summer! Thanks again for all you do to make our neighborhood great and I hope to see you poolside.

Events & Social Gatherings
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at our 4th of July party this year! We are grateful to the many volunteers who made the picnic happen from buying the fried chicken, set-up, trash pick-up, to clean-up: Mary Kate Galke, Kathy Williams, Joe and Jack Tucker, Denise Koch, Norman Elton, Jim Gravgaard, and Julia Mishler.
August 15 - Club the Creek, 12:00 PM: Join us on the water in your creek-worthy vessels. Paddle alongside like-minded members and take in the beauty that is College Creek. No boat, no problem! Join us during the event and afterwards on the deck of the clubhouse–the views here are just as stunning!
August is a slow month for activities, but we are preparing for a big Labor Day Party and neighborhood favorite, Drool in the Pool, in September. Stay tuned for details about how to help us make this event a success!
Social Events: The Club is inviting our members to take the lead and bring their Social Event ideas to life! We thank everyone for making the Club a wonderful place to gather, connect, and celebrate! Pool & Swim Team News
Pool Hours can be found on the club website and a printable calendar can be found HERE. (note: this version was revised last month to fix a typo. On Friday, the pool is monitored by pool attendants, not life guards. We apologize for the error)
Pool Rules & Reminders: We love our four-legged friends in KP, however, they need to stay outside the pool fence. No dogs are allowed in the pool area or on the pool deck. Thanks for your help with this! Please visit this page for pool rules: https://www.kingspointclub.org/rules.
Please remember that the rules during attendant hours and lifeguard hours are the same. We ask that for the safety of all residents that parents/guardians remember to enforce those rules when supervising their children. For example, when swimming in the diving well/deep end, if the diving board is being used, please make sure that all other individuals are on the wall. If people are playing crosspool or something similar or swimming across/in the deep end, the board should not be used.
Pool guests: Guests must be accompanied by a member. There is a $5 fee per person for local guests (WJCC and Upper York County residents). There is no charge for out-of-town guests or grandchildren. Kingspoint residents must be club members to be at the pool. If you live in Kingspoint and you have not paid for pool membership, then you cannot be a guest of a member. You can pay for a daily guest pass online ahead of time by clicking this link (https://www.kingspointclub.org/store/p/pool-guest-daily-pass), scanning the QR code at the attendant’s table or with cash in the black money box at the table as well.
Water Aerobics Class: slight change in the Water Aerobics schedule. Classes will now be Tuesdays and Fridays at 10-11am. It's free and will be a lot of fun! Come on down, get a little cardio in and enjoy the pool (plus it will be before the normal opening time so you should have the pool to yourselves and be able to get your workout before the crowds appear!
Kingspoint Dolphins Swim Team updates:
The Dolphin swimmers have completed the summer season undefeated and won Division 3 of the Virginia Peninsula Swim Union!! Go Dolphins!!
We would like to thank our volunteers for all their hard work and support during this season. This is a completely volunteer-run organization and we couldn’t run this team without them and our amazing Sponsors!!

Our team delivered an outstanding performance this season, highlighted by exceptional individual achievements and incredible depth across every age group. We celebrated multiple double and triple event winners, showcasing the hard work, determination, and talent of our swimmers throughout the season.
Double winners are 6 & under swimmers who won 1st place for both freestyle and backstroke in the same meet.

Triple winners are swimmers who won 1st place for all 3 of their individual events in the same meet:

The excitement continued at the Championship Meet on August 1, where numerous team members earned the opportunity to compete against the area's best. Qualifying for the Championships is an accomplishment in itself, and our swimmers represented the team with pride, determination, and sportsmanship while delivering impressive performances in the pool.
Swimmers who finished in the top 16, scoring points at Champs for KP:
Clare Blinn (Girls 11-12): 16th in 50 m breaststroke.
Gavin Meadows (Men 15-18): 13th in 50m freestyle, 3rd in 50m breastroke, 6th in 50m butterfly.
Sam Patterson (Boys 13-14): 7th in 100m IM, 15th in 50m freestyle, 6th in 50m butterfly.
Moira Sokolowsky (Women 15-18): 5th in 50m freestyle, 4th in 50m backstroke, 4th in 50m butterfly.
Lexi Stanhope (Women 15-18): 12th in 50m backstroke, 15th in 50m butterfly.
Molly Brooks (Girls 9-10): 15th in 50m breastroke
Olivia Mallett (Girls 9-10): 16th in 100m IM, 15th in 50m freestyle,
Sterling Mallett (Boys 6 & Under): 8th in 25m freestyle, 6th place in 25m Backstroke

Girls 18 & Under200m Freestyle Relay: 12th place (Molly Brooks, Olivia Mallett, Clare Blinn, Moira Sokolowsky)
Congratulations to all of our swimmers for an amazing season and for the dedication that made these accomplishments possible. We will miss seeing our Seniors who graduated in May: Taylor Ann Mason, Gavin Meadows, Charlie Patterson, and Lexi Stanhope. Special thanks to Coach Caroline Hager, assistant coaches Gavin and Moira, and our many junior coaches for your dedication, encouragement, and countless hours of support throughout the season.
Facilities Updates & Volunteer Opportunities
Completed Projects: In July, our Facilities team, led by Mike Gordon, replaced the bathroom lights, repaired the table for the pool deck pagoda, and the outside shower was repaired and is ready for use. Shout out to Ben Brown for helping with these projects!
Clubhouse Reminder: During this summer we have found the A/C set to 72 or lower in the main Clubhouse. Please remember to turn the A/C to the recommended 80 degrees when leaving. Also the left front door has been found unlocked at events. We are adding signs to the Clubhouse doors to remind folks. Help us keep our Clubhouse safe and keep utility costs low!
Upcoming Projects in August: We will be adding a rain gutter to the Clubhouse along the front left roof line and the porch roof to direct rain water off the deck and the new steps. Also, we will begin to repair the outside landscape lighting around the deck and the back parking lot. If you have time to help with these projects, please email Mike at msgordon622@gmail.com or text 303-264-8782 with dates and time you can help and we will put together a work day(s) to tackle these. We need your expertise and at least your conversations. Even an hour makes a big impact!
Dock Project: A meeting has been scheduled with Ben Brown, Mike Matthews, and Dave Stanhope to continue the dock planning so we can get a timeline set for that project. Stay tuned for more updates!

Financial & Administrative Reminders
2026 Member Dues: KPC requests that all dues be paid in full before the start of the pool season (which was the end of May). If you are unsure if you have paid your dues, please reach out to the treasurer at kpwilliamsburg@gmail.com.
If you have received an annual dues invoice and no longer wish to be a member of KPC, please notify us at kpwilliamsburg@gmail.com so we can update our records.
August Board Meeting: The Board will be holding our monthly Board meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 6:45 PM at the Clubhouse. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns or you would like to share your ideas at kppresidents@gmail.com.

The Kingspoint Club, Inc. oversees our community’s recreational property on Northpoint Drive. This waterfront site includes a beautiful clubhouse, neighborhood pool, picnic area, dock, and a children’s play area. The KP Club operates the pool and clubhouse and organizes neighborhood social events for members. Membership in the Club is optional for residents, and includes use of the pool, boat ramp and dock. Members may also rent the clubhouse and pool for social events. Membership is required to attend some Club sponsored social events. Non- residents may also pay annual dues to use the pool and the clubhouse. For more information or to join, contact KPMembership@gmail.com.

Little Dolphins (new update!)
Do you have young kids and are looking to connect with other parents in the neighborhood? Consider joining the “Little Dolphins” GroupMe. It’s a network of parents in the neighborhood. It’s a nice way to meet parents in the neighborhood with similarly aged kids (coffee date anyone?), and to help arrange playdates (heading down to the pool?) or share other vital information (lemonade stand pop-up!) Advertising Policy
The advertising policy for the News from the Club is as follows: business related ads are $25/edition or $260/yr. See this website for additional information: https://www.kingspointclub.org/advertisers. We can provide an invoice if necessary.
Small ads of one or two sentences from Club members’ children are free as a community service to all Kingspoint Club members. Children may be of elementary, middle, and high school age or college age to place an ad.
